Membership Requirements

In order to become a member of Green Faerie Grove, you must be at least 18 years of age (you do not have to yet be 18 to become a dedicant, but you will be required to have parental consent and you cannot be considered for full membership until you have reached your 18th birthday), queer, neo-pagan, and male.

The first step in acquiring a membership is to conact us stating your intrest in becoming a member. An interview with the grove members will be scheduled, usually over lunch or dinner. Upon completion of the interview, the grove members will get together and vote on whether or not they are willing to grant you guest status with the grove.

If granted, you will be allowed to attend rituals as a guest (permission must be requested as some rituals are members only). It is suggested that you take advantage of this guest status to attend as many rituals as you can and to get to know the grove members. After you have acquired a relationship with the grove members and have decided that the grove is a place you would like to grow spiritually, you may request a period of dedication.

Once again, the grove members will get together and vote on your request. If your request is denied, it does not necessarily mean that you cannot be granted dedicant status at a later date. If your request to become a GFG dedicant is accepted, you will be assigned a sponsor. Your sponsor will help you acquire the knowledge you need to become a full GFG member.

The typical dedication period is a year and a day for men with no prior experience in neo-paganism. This time may vary considerably, up or down, depending upon your progress, previous experience in the Craft, and recommendations from your sponsor.

Please understand, participation in the Grove as a dedicant does not guarantee eventual initiation into Green Faerie Grove. Your initiation may only occur with full consensus of all Grove members in accordance with GFG bylaws. If voted in favor of membership, you will then be scheduled for initiation, usually on the next sabbat or full moon ritual.

The dedicant guidelines can be found here.
